This issue is a good example of the Center for Strategic Research’s (SAM) cooperationwith Turkish academics. They have so far been contributing their view points, knowledgeand ideas to the seminars organized by SAM and with their articles to our Center’speriodical, Perceptions; and their monographs to SAM Papers.
This is the first time that we are producing a directory for researchers on Turkish ForeignPolicy. Dr. Nail Alkan and Dr. Mustafa Aydyn, both lecturers and researchers at theFaculty of Political Science of Ankara University, have come up with this idea to SAM,which was immediately supported. Although not a comprehensive one, this directory of 250 pages covering 2452 books and articles includes quite a number of authors of various nationalities who have written in English, German and French. There may bemany others which may not have been included. However, in its present form we thinkthat the compilers have produced a very useful work and those sources which do nottake place in this issue can be material for additional issues as complementary to thisdirectory. In this respect, we urge scholars who are interested in completing thisdirectory, to get in touch either with us or with the compilers in order to produce more.
We are thankful to both Dr. Alkan and Dr. Aydyn for initiating this idea and for the effortsthey have put in realizing this catologue. Dr. Alkan is also Deputy Director of EuropeanCommunity Reserach Center of Ankara University (ATAUM)
